Eric D. Holtz has been UP/DOWN’s head engineer since before it opened its doors. He began working with Blue October on their album “Sway” at Firestation Studios, and has been a part of the Blue October studio recording team ever since. A 2014 summa cum laude graduate of the Texas State Music School Sound Recording Technology program, his recent work includes Blue October’s “Home”, Cloudkicker’s “Live with Intronaut”, Ashleigh Stone’s “Elements”, and Tori Vasquez’s “Go Thank Yourself”.

His recent mixing work consists of Blue October’s “Things We Do At Night (Live from Texas)”, Justin Furstenfeld’s “Songs from An Open Book”, and two songs off Blue October’s “Home”.

As an experienced musician with classical training in percussion, Eric has an ear for what works musically. His own band, Legendary Skies, has garnished several awards with their debut album, “Novarupta”, and has toured across the U.S.

Eric is a fan of all types of music, and believes there is value in every song. “My favorite thing about UP/DOWN is how comfortable of an environment it is. The artist doesn’t feel pressured if they feel at home. This allows the artist to focus on the creative side and know their project is in good hands.”
